Custred Insulation was founded in 1977 in Gallatin, Tennessee, by Wayne Custred and his wife, Wandell. Wayne worked for TVA in Gallatin and recognized the need for energy conservation
and the fact that many homes were under insulated. For the next 19 years the Custreds worked with many homeowners to help them improve their energy use and thus to save them money.
They also worked with a number of home builders to construct new homes with the latest and best insulation products. Their reputation became one of providing quality products and services and treating clients and homeowners fairly, based on their traditional, family values. Custred Insulation grew to become one of the largest home insulators in Sumner County.

In 1996, Glynn Custred, their son, along with his wife Claire, purchased Custred Insulation from his parents. Glynn, after working with his parents for several years, manages the day- to-day operations of the company, overseeing the work in the field to insure quality work and customer satisfaction. Claire, a certified public accountant, manages the administrative and financial aspects of the company, including customer accounts and employee payroll.

Together, Glynn and Claire have continued the tradition of providing homeowners and home builders with quality products and services never losing sight of the family values upon which Custred Insulation began. Over the years they have continued to grow and improve the company by adding the latest insulation products and services. Their reputation as a company which is grounded in exceptional quality and unwavering fairness has opened up many new opportunities throughout the area. In fact, Custred Insulation has insulated many new homes in the premier developments throughout the area and has continued to help homeowners save money by upgrading the insulation in their homes.

For over 30 years, Custred Insulation has worked with homeowners to Improve Home Insulation and has insulated many new homes throughout Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.
